A project completed

While we were in NOLA one of my stops was at a shop that sells needlepoint canvases.
I chose a picture of a Fleur De Lis. I finally finished it this week. I am not sure what I want to do with it now. DH as suggested a wall hanging to put in our foyer. Maybe Mom will have a suggestion.

Our Trip to the Zoo

DH and I went to the Atlanta Zoo during Memorial Day Weekend. Of course we had to go and visit the Baby Panda. She was playing with her Mom. It was the first time we had ever seen one of the Pandas do anything other than eat or sleep.

More New Orleans

I enjoyed the time I spent exploring New Orleans. I wandered around and then rested and wandered some more. When Honey was finished at work we spent time wandering together. I took lots of pictures. There was so much to see..we will have to visit again since I don't think I saw everything yet.

Home At Last

My Dear Honey had to work at a conference in New Orleans. I met him there and had a wonderful time. I spent most mornings walking around the French Quarter. When he finished work we went out together. It was more than a vacation, it was a chance to move ahead for me. I will be posting pictures soon. I took lots.
Today we went to Zoo Atlanta and saw the Baby Panda. Of course she just sat there.

A Day of Beauty

Dear Kate and I had a day of beauty today. We both went to get our hair cut. Our hairdresser suggested she get her hair cut a little shorter and donate it to Locks Of Love. She immediately said yes. I was so amazed but not suprised that she was so willing to give so much from herself to help someone else. She has always been willing to give to others. Her hair now is beautiful (per the picture)...and some person will benefit from her hair cut.

The web site is www.locksoflove.org. They accept donations in many forms. I am even considering trying to grow enough hair to donate.

New flower boxes

Honey and I planted new plants in our front porch flower boxes. It is a difficult place to grow since it is mostly shade. Of course we also have to water frequently. Everything seems to be doing well so far. I hope they survive the summer. If they do some can be planted in our garden in the fall. They should come back year after year. What better way to grow a garden.

A wonderful weekend

Honey and I went to the Renaissance Festival this weekend. He found a Kissing Wench right away of course and I had to get a picture. It was a little warm so we took a break under the trees. I made the skirt to go with my outfit. I plan to add more for next year. We had turkey legs and corn while we wandered around. It was fun to see all the different outfits and shows. I look forward to next year's adventure.

Pictures from the yard

Honey and I worked in the yard this weekend instead of going somewhere. I planted a few annuals to fill in the front flower bed. I was suprised at how much our hostas have grown. I am going to try to remember to divide them this fall.
