Master Bath

Honey and his friend are working on our bathroom right now. They are starting on the tile today. Last week was replacing the tub fixtures. So far, all is well, but it is a long process.

Painting the 1/2 bath

My Dear Mom pointed out that I had not shared pictures of the half bath Honey and recently painted. I guess you would call it Peach colored...but it blends nicely with the family room that it opens into. We still have to hang the mirror and replace the fixtures. Much more will follow.

Honey and a Friend from work are upgrading the masterbath even as we speak..Oh well...Maybe I can have a bath soon??????

Dear Honey's Garden

This year we found a fountain that was a last year model and not expensive. So we got it and planted ferns around it and move some elephant ears too. Well....The Elephant Ears grew more and more. They are now taller than Honey and still getting bigger. Cold weather is on the way so we just had to take a picture or two.

A day at Busch Gardens

Honey and I spent a day at Busch Gardens after he finished his school. We saw Eagles that were rescued after being injured. We also had a chance to feed the birds. They were really friendly! Mostly we walked around site seeing. Honey took a picture of the Roller Coaster I rode. It was fun, but one was enough for me.

Home Again

After a wonderful visit with my Mom and Dad and my Dogster Honey, I got home and Honey had a project for me. I painted the half bath downstairs. We didn't have time to put it back together before we left for Virginia. He had a school in Williamsburg so I tagged along. He went to class during the day and I worked on my needlepoint and went swimming. When he came back in the evening we went exploring. We visited Jamestown and the Historic part of Williamsburg. The last day we went to Busch Gardens. They were having a Halloween Celebration and had several "Scary" trails and haunted houses. We enjoyed the time in Williamsburg and went home by way of North Carolina so we could visit my brother and his wife. We had a great visit. At last though we are at home. Our Daughter was kind enough to come and feed our pets while we were gone. She brought in the mail and left a sweet note for us to read when we got home. Of course I have a lot to accomplish tomorrwo. Unpacking, clothes to wash and a bathroom to finish. Best of all, it feels good to be home.

Adventures With Miss Martha

Monday was my first chance to ride my bicycle around. It has been a while so I was a little wobbly. It was lots of fun though. First I went to take a picture of Town Cove. It looked so peaceful on the water with all the boats sitting there.
Then I rode by the house where the lady decorates her tree. She changes the decorations to reflect the seasons or holidays.
Finally I stopped at Fancy's to see Rick, the Butcher. They have a Bull and when he is out the Butcher is in.
I was tired when I got home but I did have a nice ride.

Spending Time With Mom and Dad

I am spending a month visiting my parents at Cape Cod. We are going to have lots of fun while I am here. Today I rented a bicycle to ride around on. Mom and I named her Martha. They even put a basket on the front for me. I am looking forward to riding around to some of the shops and sights. More to come as we take more pictures.

Winnie's Day of Beauty

Yesterday Winnie went for a haircut and beauty treatment. I was very suprised to see a red bow in her hair when I picked her up. Of course it was so cute I had to take a picture. It didn't stay long though. She rolled on her back until she pulled it out, but I kept it. Maybe I can get her to sit still long enough to put it in again before we go for a walk.

Thursday Date Night

For our Thursday Date Night Honey got tickets to see the Wizard of Oz at the Fox Theater. The Fox is wonderful to see by itself. To see the Wizard of Oz on stage there was a real treat. We had a fabulous evening out.

Happy to be Home

Honey and I went to MS to check on his Mom and see DSS before he left for collage. Mom is doing well. She is up and around and able to drive again. We helped out with some things that she isn't able to do and will most likely visit again next month.
We helped DSS get some of the things he would need when he goes to Mississippi State University next week. Hard to believe that cute little baby is going to college. Oh well, time does fly. We also had fun while we were there. Honey patiently took me to a quilt shop and a needlepoint and cross stitch shop. We also went out to a really nice dinner.
Most of all though, I am glad we got home safely.
Today I worked on unpacking and working on laundry. There is still more to do though. I hope to have pictures to post tomorrow.

A visit to Ikea

Honey was went with me to the VA hospital and on the way home we stopped at Ikea. We have been there once before and I am amazed at the things they have there.
I think I may have found the perfect cabinet to store my fabric in. It has glass doors. My next step is to measure the area in my sitting room and determine how many cabinets will fit. I am really excited about this project.

Date Night

Honey and I have tried several different nights to go on a date. So Thursday nights have turned out to be the best night. So tonight we went to see the new Harry Potter movie and had dinner after the movie. Since it was a week night there wasn't a crowd at the movie. I am happy to report a great time was had by all.

DD's home update

This weekend DD and her husband worked on the area outside their apartment. The bird feeders are hanging and they added some blocks to the walkway. It is really starting to come together. We have to improve the GA clay before we can really start planting anything.

A Quiet Day

Honey and I had a quiet day together. He got my jeep washed and the oil chanaged while I took DD to work. It was time to upgrade our cellphones so we did that. We wandered around Walmart but didn't find anything we wanted. We had a nice supper together and then came home. That was about it for today.

Doggie Update....The little brown dog appeared this afternoon with a collar. The little black and white dog still just runs. The brown dog still barks. He ran out to greet me when I got home this afternoon. I have been able to pet him once. Honey says they have a home but they sure do spend a lot of time in my yard. I guess I am just a soft touch since I keep feeding them.

ब्लांक Slate

DD and Her Honey have a new apartment. The Landlady said she could do whatever she wanted to improve the area around her home. The only rules were she couldn't dig up existing bushes and the Landlady wants to see the end result. (I really like this lady by the way). Well this is our start point and phase one..inserting color. We cleaned the area under the air conditioner. This weekend I hope we can work on making this a home for "my Kids".

Home At Last

I left Thursday and Honey and Dear Girl came down Friday. I was responsible for two young ladies ages 12 and 13. There was another Mother who had three girls of the same ages. Mornings were always filled with confusion. Getting five girls dressed to be in different places at different times.

The result is...when it comes to adults getting dressed, they are lucky to get it right.

I got to the meeting and after several hours Dear Honey pointed out I was wearing two different shoes. I later discovered they were both left feet! No wonder my right foot hurt so much.

Bottom line is You Gotta Love It!!

Off to Grand Assembly

We are off with a Young Ladie's Youth Group for our Annual Meeting. I will leave early since we only allow Ladies to chaprone the girls. They range in age from 11 to 21. That makes it hard sometimes but it is such an great organization. They are required to participate in local fundraisers. They range from Children's Hospitals to Retirement Homes. I do think this is an opportunity for these young women to learn to give back to others.

Home at last

Honey and I got home Saturday from Mississippi. We went to work on his Mother's house before she was released from the rehab facility. The house had been sitting up for several months and we had a lot to get done. We also had to rearrange some things since she couldn't get around as well as she did before. We replaced the ceiling and floor. We moved a bed to get her easier access and got her new furniture and rugs. It was a long hard week but well worth it. There is still a lot to be done but we are off to a good start.

What a Great Visit

I had the opportunity to visit a quilt shop I recently found close to home. I can't begin to describe the amount and varity of fabrics they had. They also have a Guild that meets there. Finally I may have found a Guild for me. Not to mention the books and patterns available. They also offer classes for adults and children. I am looking forward to they opportunity to learn from these ladies.
I hope to spend some time in my Sitting/Sewing Room this afternoon. I would like to inish getting everything put away before we leave to visit Honey's Mum. If I do that then I will be able to work in there when we get home.

Moving Day for Daughter

Mr and Mrs Wilson (daughter and son-in-law) moved into their new home this weekend. Honey and I were happy to help them move. They both seem to be happy as they create their new "nest".

More from the Front Garden

Our little Gnome is taking a nap. We have a small bird bath more for decoration than anything. We got the fountain at a reduced price because it is last years model. We have caught our cat licking the side of it. I guess it tastes better than inthe water bowl. Our hostas and lilys have done well in this garden in spite of the drought. I guess because it is shaded.

Update from our yard

These are pictures of the flowerbed in front of our house. We started with hostas and would add annuals every year to fill in. They have really taken off this year.

Upcoming Project

This is the other canvas I got in NOLA. I am not sure where to start though. I will probably wait until I visit Dear Mum. I am really looking forward to that visit.

A project completed

While we were in NOLA one of my stops was at a shop that sells needlepoint canvases.
I chose a picture of a Fleur De Lis. I finally finished it this week. I am not sure what I want to do with it now. DH as suggested a wall hanging to put in our foyer. Maybe Mom will have a suggestion.

Our Trip to the Zoo

DH and I went to the Atlanta Zoo during Memorial Day Weekend. Of course we had to go and visit the Baby Panda. She was playing with her Mom. It was the first time we had ever seen one of the Pandas do anything other than eat or sleep.

More New Orleans

I enjoyed the time I spent exploring New Orleans. I wandered around and then rested and wandered some more. When Honey was finished at work we spent time wandering together. I took lots of pictures. There was so much to see..we will have to visit again since I don't think I saw everything yet.

While Honey had to work

I spent the days wandering through the French Quarter. I took pictures and mostly window shopped. I did buy a few things..but mostly I just enjoyed the sites. Jackson Square is beautiful. I enjoyed the food of course. When Honey finished work we went out together.
